Established in 1967, the City of Bay Lake jurisdiction is approximately 23 square miles located in southwest Orange County. The City is named after a large natural lake located east of Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. The Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel and Bay Lake Tower, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge and the Disney’s Ft. Wilderness Resort & Campground are located on the west and south shorelines of Bay Lake. Also within the City are the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks: Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom as well as several resort hotels.
The City of Bay Lake’s offices are located at 1375 Buena Vista Drive, Suite S140, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830. The City is governed by a 5 member city council.
